Dr. M. Ronan Conlon
Dr. M. Ronan Conlon has been practicing ophthalmology in Saskatoon since 1994. His special interests in ophthalmology include cataract surgery, refractive and oculoplastic surgery. He completed his residency training in ophthalmology at the University of Western Ontario in 1991. Dr. Conlon has completed 3 years of fellowship training in ophthalmology; one year at Harvard University (1991-1992) and two years at the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinic (1992-1994). Dr. Conlon first began performing PRK and LASIK surgery in 1995, and has been affiliated with HLVC since that time.
Dr. Conlon currently holds an academic position with the University of Saskatchewan as an associate professor in the Department of Ophthalmology. He has written numerous scientific articles, book chapters, and given numerous scientific lectures. Dr. Conlon is currently the Medical Director of Midwest Eye Care Institute, and is a member of the Canadian Ophthalmology Society, the Canadian and American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, the American Society of Cosmetic Surgery, and the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
Dr. Conlon and his wife Susan have six children, Michael, Ronan, Nicholas, Fiona, Luke, and Julia. Dr. Conlon enjoys golf, tennis and running and most of all, time with his growing family.
Dr. Vikas. Sharma
Dr. Vikas Sharma graduated from S.P. Medical College, Bikaner, India in 1999. He completed his clinical fellowship in cataract, cornea and external disease, at Moorfields Eye Hospital and Southampton General Hospital in England - two of the most pre-eminent eye care hospitals in the world.
Dr. Sharma has a special interest in cataract, refractive and corneal transplant surgery in particular newer techniques involving lamellar surgery and endothelial cell transplantation.
Dr. Sharma is currently working closely with the Lions Eye Bank of Saskatchewan in providing care to patients with sight threatening corneal diseases. Dr. Sharma is a member of the Department of Ophthalmology, Saskatoon City Hospital, Saskatoon Health Region, American Society of Cataract and Refractive surgery, American Academy of Ophthalmology, and the Royal College of Ophthalmologists.
